Frequently Asked Questions
Alpha status (14 October 2026): XiSlides is planned and its public installer is not verified. This page describes the checked DeckCraft foundation; XiKey integration is still in progress. Alpha is free today.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is XiSlides free during Alpha, and how is it licensed in Beta?
Alpha is free today, but XiSlides remains planned and no public XiKey installer is verified. Future Beta pricing lists XiOffice (XiWrite, XiSheet and XiSlides) at US$29/year or US$3.49/month, before tax. XiKey Desktop Complete is US$99/year or US$11.99/month. The first-year 50% discount applies to yearly plans; the monthly first month is US$0.99. Alpha founding members retain the first-year 50% price for life. The student plan is US$9/year per product and US$19/year for Complete; no educator or XiOffice student entitlement is established. Perpetual licences will be announced later.
2. What is the refund policy once paid Beta plans begin?
Paid Beta subscriptions have a 30-day money-back policy; a processed refund revokes the licence.
3. How are updates installed?
Signed update delivery through XiLauncher is in progress for this product. The store policy includes updates while subscribed, but product release integration is not yet verified.
4. Can XiSlides open and save Microsoft PowerPoint .pptx files directly?
PPTX read/write exists upstream. Advanced charts, SmartArt, embedded fonts and media/review details have gaps, so identical appearance and preservation are not guaranteed.
5. Does XiSlides support Morph transitions and dual-screen Presenter View?
Morph and a separate presenter window exist upstream. Automatic projector/display placement is absent; arrange windows manually. Presenter controls and annotations are limited, and narrated recording/video export are not available.
6. How does Arabic and Right-to-Left (RTL) text work in XiSlides today?
Arabic shaping and RTL slide text exist in the desktop foundation. XiKey Arabic interface, font grouping and office text tools are in progress. Arabic template packs are not established by the product record.
7. Can I export a presentation so anyone can view it without presentation software?
The checked foundation exports PDF slides, notes and handouts, and PNG/JPEG images. HTML5 decks and SVG slide export are not verified capabilities. Inspect each exported page.
