A way back after a file changes

An unwanted edit or deletion need not be the end of a document. XiVault keeps earlier versions of protected files and lets you restore a saved revision as a copy, or replace the current file after confirmation. Compression reduces the space needed for saved versions.

Windows 0.6.3 also supports sharing folders between your own paired computers on a private network, including files downloaded when you open them. The 0.2.5 Mac and Windows ARM64 downloads are older releases; newer Windows features are not promised on those builds.

XiVault can help recover a saved version after damage, including damage caused by ransomware. Recovery depends on the versions still available in your vault; it is not a promise to prevent an attack or recover every file.

Encryption of saved file contents

Planned. File-name protection and key backup exist, but the progress record still lists content encryption as unfinished. Do not assume the available beta encrypts saved file contents.

Questions, answered

Is XiVault part of XiGuard?

Yes. The XiGuard team develops and publishes it, and it also ships as a standalone app. Installers and updates remain with XiGuard.

Does every platform have the same version?

No. The catalog checked on 15 October 2026 lists Windows x64 0.6.3, and Windows ARM64 and both Mac builds at 0.2.5. Windows sharing features described here require the newer Windows build.
