XiPhoto

A good image usually takes more than one idea. A different crop, a quieter background, a headline that finally sits in the right place. XiPhoto is for people who want to explore those choices while keeping the elements of a design separate. Its PhotoCraft foundation brings layers, selections, editable type, brushes and image export into one workspace. The inspected source is a capability baseline, not a promise that every tool has been validated in a released XiKey package. Foundation.

Who it is for

Try XiPhoto if you make promotional artwork, illustrate ideas or combine photographs with lettering for a small team. It suits exploratory work where keeping a master and checking an export are part of the process. For a deadline that depends on exact Photoshop compatibility, validate a representative project first: upstream records gaps in PSD fidelity, advanced type and interactive performance. Known limits.

Three starting points for your next image

Food retail: a neighborhood bakery's bilingual menu

Arrange product photos and prices on separate layers, mask a distracting tabletop and save a review image for the owner. The Arabic interface is available in the local pilot, but final Arabic lettering needs a visual check: the complete Arabic text-tool integration is still in progress. The scenario is an idea for evaluation, not a supplied template.

Live performance: a chamber-music season announcement

Build a composition around a rehearsal photograph. Keep the title editable, use a restrained layer shadow for separation and produce a smaller web copy after approval. One layered master can hold the alternatives while the committee decides which image and wording to use.

Industrial training: a workshop safety illustration

Combine a machine photograph with shape arrows and callouts. Use masks to keep attention on the relevant area, and retain each annotation as a separate element for later revision. Have the responsible trainer verify all safety instructions before publication; the editor supplies artwork tools, not technical certification.

A workflow with room for revision

Compose. Open a copy of the source image, separate the elements into named layers and groups, and use selections and masks for placement. Keep the original files.

Refine. Add adjustment layers for the overall look; review the brush, shape or type details that serve the image. Smart objects and effects preserve some editing choices, but complex imported documents need checking. Layered-format limits.

Deliver. Keep an editable master, then export a destination copy with suitable format, quality and scale. Reopen it before sharing. For repeated edits, recorded actions and batch naming help organize a set.

What XiKey™ adds

The tested local XiPhoto pilot includes an Arabic interface and a one-click EN ⇄ ع switch that works without restarting. Its font menu already separates Arabic and English fonts, and a local splash has been tested. These completed pieces do not mean the full XiKey touch is finished.

• In progress: an Arabic font dialog grouped by style; the full splash, About and dialog experience; kashida, tashkeel controls, Arabic digits and Hijri dates; signed updates through XiLauncher.
• Planned: XiKey Classic/Modern layouts and Retina scaling; the Islamic geometric pattern generator; sandboxed add-on management through XiLauncher.

The XiKey status and XiKey roadmap, read on 14 October 2026, define these states. In particular, Arabic text layout has known gaps; inspect actual wording and order before sending a bilingual design to print.

Free Alpha, with a clear boundary

Alpha is free today. Store pricing schedules paid subscriptions from Beta; it does not establish a finished public release. The project records a tested local Windows XiPhoto pilot, while wider installers, CI and signing still need completion. Keep backups, evaluate copies, and report reproducible problems. This content audit checked source and documents; it did not run the application or an installer.
