Getting Started with XiPDF

These instructions describe the checked PdfCraft foundation as of 14 October 2026. XiPDF Alpha is free; public installer availability and XiKey integration are not yet verified.

Overview and Alpha Status

XiPDF is the desktop PDF reader, page assembler, annotation and measurement tool, form designer, OCR utility, and true stream redaction application in the XiKey™ suite. XiPDF is based on PDFCraft (v0.7.1) by the ArtCraft team (MIT OR Apache-2.0).

Alpha is free today. Public installers are not yet confirmed. Signed update delivery through XiLauncher is in progress.

Opening and Creating PDF Documents

Use Open (Ctrl+O / Cmd+O) to open PDF documents. Choose New blank PDF to start a document, or Create PDF from images to turn photographs into pages. Combine PDF files through the page assembly tools.

Welcome Screen and Display Preferences (Status)

  • Theme: Light and dark appearance options belong to the checked foundation.
  • Arabic interface and one-click English ⇄ العربية switch: In progress.
  • XiKey splash, About and message dialogs: In progress.
  • Classic and Modern layouts and Retina/interface scaling: Planned.
