Getting Started with XiLauncher
Overview and Alpha Status
XiLauncher is XiKey™'s application manager, based on ArtCraft Launcher by the ArtCraft team (MIT OR Apache-2.0). Alpha is free today. Public XiKey packages have not been verified; connecting the catalog and update channel to XiKey products is still in progress.
Installing and First Launch
The steps below describe the inspected upstream launcher foundation. Use them when a compatible package is available; the upstream catalog does not establish that XiKey-branded apps can already be installed.
- Launch the application: Review the listed apps, their installed versions and latest releases.
- Review settings: Open Settings to choose a theme, language and update preferences. The upstream launcher uses the system's normal application locations and package formats; a shared custom apps-folder selector is not verified.
- Inspect available applications: Switch between the catalog's grid and table views, then inspect an app's details before installation.
Welcome Screen and Suite Preferences (Status)
- Theme and language preferences are available in the upstream launcher. Settings → Language changes the interface language immediately; Auto follows the system language. XiKey Arabic integration is unfinished.
- Arabic interface and one-click English ⇄ العربية switch — in progress.
- Arabic-style font dialog — in progress.
- XiKey splash, About, welcome and message dialogs — in progress.
- Signed XiKey updates — in progress.
- Classic/Modern layouts and Retina scaling — planned.
- Sandboxed add-on distribution and management — planned.
