Arabic & RTL Support in XiLauncher
Current Status vs. Planned Additions
The upstream launcher has immediate language selection in Settings → Language, with Auto following the system language. This is separate from XiKey's unfinished Arabic integration.
What Works Today
- Upstream language preferences: Select a supported language manually or use the system preference. Product names and published release notes may remain in their original language.
- Upstream catalog: App cards, table views, version checks and package actions are implemented. The XiKey catalog and update channel remain in progress.
In Progress for XiLauncher
- Arabic interface and one-click English ⇄ العربية switch — in progress; they are not completed XiLauncher features.
- Arabic-style font dialog — in progress; product integration remains unfinished.
- XiKey splash, About, welcome and message dialogs — in progress.
- Signed XiKey updates — in progress. Download checksums in the upstream launcher do not establish completion of XiKey signature verification.
Planned for XiLauncher (Coming)
- Classic/Modern layouts and Retina scaling — planned.
- Sandboxed add-on distribution and management — planned.
