These instructions describe the checked VectorCraft foundation as of 14 October 2026. XiVector Alpha is free; public installer availability and XiKey integration are not yet verified.

Licensing, Pricing & Updates

1. Is XiVector free during Alpha?

Alpha is free today for the XiKey Desktop suite. A free launch policy does not confirm a public installer for every product.

2. What will XiVector cost at Beta?

At Beta, XiVector is $39/year ($19.50 in your first year with the 50% first-year discount) or $4.99/month ($0.99 for the first month). Alpha testers who become founding members keep the 50% yearly discount for life. Students pay $9/year for XiVector or $19/year for XiKey Desktop Complete (all 14 apps). XiVector is also part of the XiKey Creative bundle ($79/year).

3. What is the refund and update policy?

The planned Beta policy includes a 30-day money-back guarantee; a refund revokes the licence. Updates are included while subscribed. Signed delivery through XiLauncher is in progress. Perpetual licences will be announced later.

Vector Engine & File Formats

4. Which vector and raster file formats can XiVector open and export?

The checked list includes the native format, SVG/SVGZ, PDF, AI and common raster inputs. Output includes SVG/SVGZ, PDF, AI, PNG, JPEG and WebP. AI output contains PDF-compatible artwork without Illustrator private editing data. EPS, DXF and TIFF export are not confirmed.

5. What is the difference between Pathfinder booleans, Compound Shapes, and the Shape Builder tool?

Pathfinder computes resulting paths; compound shapes keep operands editable. Shape Builder combines selected regions, but has documented region-detection gaps. Inspect the result and use Pathfinder where needed.

6. Can XiVector trace bitmap logos or sketches into vector paths?

Image Trace provides presets for turning raster artwork into vector shapes. Inspect and simplify traced paths before delivery.

7. Can a single vector path have multiple fills and strokes?

The Appearance panel supports multiple editable fills, strokes and live effects. The effect collection is incomplete; check the available options and rendered result.
