Interface Overview

These guides describe the documented upstream workflow. XiMotion integration and installers are still in development; Alpha is free. Availability in a XiKey release has not yet been verified.

Main Areas of the Window

XiMotion's studio interface is built around modular viewers and a multi-track keyframe timeline:

  1. Menu Bar, Tool Strip & Quick Apply (Ctrl+Shift+Space / Cmd+Shift+Space):
    • Top-level menus group file, composition, layer, effect, animation, view and window commands.
    • Press Ctrl+Shift+Space (Cmd+Shift+Space on macOS) to open Quick Apply and invoke any effect, animation preset, or menu command immediately.
    • The top Tools bar holds Selection, Hand, Zoom, Rotation, Camera, Pan Behind (Anchor Point), Shape/Mask (Rectangle, Ellipse, Polygon, Star), Pen, Type, Brush/Clone/Eraser, Roto Brush, and Puppet Pin tools.
  2. Project, Effect Controls & Footage Panels (Left Dock):
    • Project Panel: Organize compositions, folders, solids, proxies, and imported media assets.
    • Effect Controls: Adjust stacked parameters across XiMotion's built-in visual effects (Blur & Sharpen, Color Correction, Distort, Generate, Keying, Matte, Noise & Grain, Perspective, Simulation, Stylize, Text, Time, Transition, Channel, Audio).
  3. Composition, Layer & Flowchart Viewers (Center):
    • Inspect live composites with 1-view, 2-view, or 4-view 3D camera layouts (Active Camera, Front, Top, Custom View), resolution selectors, safe-title/action guides, rulers (Ctrl+R), grids (Ctrl+'), and 360° VR views. Press Tab to open the Composition Mini-Flowchart.
  4. Timeline, Graph Editor & Render Queue (Bottom):
    • Timeline: Manage Video, Audio, Solo, Lock, Shy, Collapse Transformations, Quality, Motion Blur, Frame Blending, Adjustment Layer, and 3D Layer switches, plus parent-child pick-whips and Alpha/Luma Track Mattes.
    • Graph Editor: Toggle between the layer bar view and Value Graph / Speed Graph curves with Linear, Hold, Auto Bézier, Continuous Bézier, Easy Ease, Rove Across Time, and spatial interpolation handles.
    • Render Queue: Batch-render compositions to MP4, ProRes MOV, WebM, supported image sequences and audio; Lottie export has its own format limitations.
  5. Specialized Studio Panels (Right Dock):
    • Effects & Presets, Preview, Audio, Align, Character & Paragraph, Tracker (point tracking, warp stabilizer, planar/camera track), Wiggler, Smoother, Motion Sketch, Content-Aware Fill, Essential Graphics, Create Nulls From Paths, and Lumetri Scopes.

Switching Interface Language (English ⇄ العربية)
