Licensing, Pricing & Updates
1. Is XiMotion free during Alpha?
Alpha is free under the XiKey Desktop policy. XiMotion integration and installers remain in development.
2. What will XiMotion cost at Beta?
At Beta, XiMotion is priced at $39/year ($19.50 in the first year with the 50% first-year discount) or $4.99/month ($0.99 for the first month). Alpha testers (founding members) keep the 50% yearly discount for life. Students pay $9/year for XiMotion or $19/year for XiKey Desktop Complete (all 14 apps).
3. What is the refund and update policy?
Beta subscriptions include a 30-day money-back policy; refunds revoke the licence. Updates are included while subscribed. Signed delivery through XiLauncher is in progress for this product. Perpetual licences will be announced later.
Expressions, Effects & Export
4. Does XiMotion support JavaScript expressions like After Effects?
The upstream supports JavaScript expressions for linking properties, repeated motion and procedural changes. Exact After Effects behavior or rendering equivalence is not established.
5. How many built-in visual and audio effects are included?
The upstream implements blur, color, distortion, keying and generation effects, plus layer styles and puppet pins. Effect breadth does not establish matching rendering with commercial tools.
6. Can XiMotion import and export Lottie animations for web and mobile apps?
Upstream imports and exports Lottie JSON and dotLottie. Review export warnings for unsupported effects, cameras and audio. The Render Queue also documents MP4, ProRes MOV, WebM, image sequences and audio output.
7. Does XiMotion support 3D layers, lights, cameras, and 3D models?
Upstream supports spatial 3D layers, cameras, lights, depth of field and shadows. This does not guarantee that every 3D model or another application’s scene can be imported or reproduced.
