Getting Started with XiLight

These instructions describe the checked LightCraft foundation as of 14 October 2026. XiLight Alpha is free; public installer availability and XiKey integration are not yet verified.

Overview and Alpha Status

XiLight is the photo library, non-destructive RAW developer, lens correction, and batch export darkroom in the XiKey™ suite. XiLight is based on LightCraft (v0.7.1) by the ArtCraft team (MIT OR Apache-2.0).

Alpha is free today. Public installers are not yet confirmed. Signed update delivery through XiLauncher is in progress.

Importing Photos and Understanding the Non-Destructive Catalog

  1. Choose File ▸ Import Photos… (Ctrl+Shift+I / Cmd+Shift+I) to add supported images. The checked list includes JPEG, PNG, TIFF, WebP, PSD/PSB, JXL and RAW families DNG, CR2, CR3, ARW, NEF, RAF, RW2, PEF and ORF. Support varies by camera and compression; some RAW files are preview-only.
  2. Develop adjustments are stored separately from the source photograph. Export creates a new image; optional XMP sidecars hold supported settings.

Welcome Screen and Workspace Choices (Status)

  • Theme: Light and dark appearance options belong to the checked foundation.
  • Arabic interface and one-click English ⇄ العربية switch: In progress.
  • XiKey splash, About and message dialogs: In progress.
  • Classic and Modern layouts and Retina/interface scaling: Planned.
