These instructions describe the checked LightCraft foundation as of 14 October 2026. XiLight Alpha is free; public installer availability and XiKey integration are not yet verified.

Licensing, Pricing & Updates

1. Is XiLight free during Alpha?

Alpha is free today for the XiKey Desktop suite. A free launch policy does not confirm a public installer for every product.

2. What will XiLight cost at Beta?

At Beta, XiLight is priced at $19/year ($9.50 in the first year with the 50% first-year discount) or $2.49/month ($0.99 for the first month). Alpha testers (founding members) keep the 50% yearly discount for life. Students pay $9/year per product or $19/year for XiKey Desktop Complete. XiLight is also included in the XiKey Creative bundle ($79/year).

3. What is the refund and update policy?

The planned Beta policy includes a 30-day money-back guarantee; a refund revokes the licence. Updates are included while subscribed. Signed delivery through XiLauncher is in progress. Perpetual licences will be announced later.

Catalog, RAW Support & Workflow

4. Does XiLight modify my original RAW files?

Develop adjustments are stored separately from the source photograph. Export creates a new image. Keep source backups and review import, move and metadata-writing options before changing files.

5. Which camera RAW and image formats are supported?

The checked list includes JPEG, PNG, TIFF, WebP, PSD/PSB, JXL and RAW families DNG, CR2, CR3, ARW, NEF, RAF, RW2, PEF and ORF. Support varies by camera and compression; some RAW files are preview-only. AVIF, HEIC, OpenEXR and Radiance HDR import are not confirmed by this product file list.

6. Can I create Virtual Copies to test multiple color grades on one photo?

Use Create Version (Ctrl+Shift+S / Cmd+Shift+S), or Shift+M, to keep an alternative set of edits for the same source photograph. Compare treatments in the Versions panel.

7. Does XiLight include HDR and Panorama merging?

The foundation includes HDR and panorama merging through Photo ▸ Photo Merge. Review alignment, ghosting and seams before accepting the result; these upstream tools do not confirm a XiKey installer.
