Frequently Asked Questions

These guides describe the documented upstream workflow. XiAudio integration and installers are still in development; Alpha is free. Availability in a XiKey release has not yet been verified.

Licensing, Pricing & Updates

1. Is XiAudio free during Alpha?

Alpha is free under the XiKey Desktop policy. XiAudio integration and installers remain in development.

2. What will XiAudio cost at Beta?

At Beta, XiAudio is priced at $19/year ($9.50 in the first year with the 50% first-year discount) or $2.49/month ($0.99 for the first month). Alpha testers (founding members) keep the 50% yearly discount for life. Students pay $9/year for XiAudio or $19/year for XiKey Desktop Complete (all 14 apps).

3. What is the refund and update policy?

Beta subscriptions include a 30-day money-back policy; refunds revoke the licence. Updates are included while subscribed. Signed delivery through XiLauncher is in progress for this product. Perpetual licences will be announced later.

DSP Plugins, Virtual Instruments & Surround Formats

4. What built-in DSP effects and offline AudioSuite processors are included?

The upstream includes EQ, compression, gating, de-essing, room and plate reverb, delay and modulation. Built-in processors can run through AudioSuite; third-party hosted plug-ins cannot yet run offline through that workflow.

5. Can XiAudio host third-party VST3, CLAP, and AudioUnit plugins?

Upstream hosting includes CLAP, VST3 and Audio Units on macOS, with platform-specific editor and compatibility limitations. XiAudio packaging and compatibility have not been verified. Live MIDI hardware input and output are not implemented.

6. Which surround and immersive channel formats are supported?

The upstream documents surround panning and object/bed routing. Physical-channel routing and monitoring remain incomplete; this is not a verified Dolby Atmos delivery workflow in XiAudio.

7. Can I exchange sessions with Pro Tools, Logic, or video editors?

WAV/BWF and Standard MIDI Files are supported upstream. Audio bounce exports WAV, AIFF and FLAC; MP3 is an import format. Do not assume complete session round-tripping with another workstation.
